Let 2017 be your year to shine!
People have been asking me, how can we use this New Year to support ourselves to shine our brightest light? What do the numbers add up to for 2017? How are the universal energies likely to manifest for us as a universe?
Many of us are trying to make sense of where things are heading in 2017. So many people I have spent time with over the last couple of weeks have told me that they are feeling a little lighter since the winter solstice. When looking at 2017 in the context of numerology, we can gain insight into the universal energies at work during this year. 2017 will be a Universal 1 year. From a numerological standpoint, when you add up the numbers: (2 + 0 + 1 + 7 = 10) and that is distilled down to: 1 + 0 = 1
So, in 2017 we’re in a 1 year!
2016 resonated to a Universal ‘9’ Year in numerology (2+0+1+6=9), the number of completion & endings. During a Universal ‘9’ Year, we are called to reflect on our lessons/learnings over the past 9 years, integrate/embrace the wisdom gained and then use these insights to prepare for a brand new cycle – a new cycle of 9 Years – from 2017 to 2025.
2017 welcomes and encourages us all to start something brand new, something that expresses our uniqueness, that touches our hearts, that opens us to new perspectives. It is about the here and now; immediacy of getting things done. It is time to think and act independently and put our leadership abilities and unique talents to use in the greater world, to practice collaborating without losing our individuality.
The new beginnings that are being offered as we enter 2017, a Universal ‘1’ Year will be dependent on you doing the work now. Forgive, let go, release and be grateful for all that you have accomplished over the last 9 years. In doing so, you will transcend the need to repeat old patterns/habits and begin a brand new cycle of growth – fresh, aware and conscious of a new era in your beingness.
A universal 1 year is a time to plant the seeds of intention for the forthcoming cycle – your deepest heartfelt desires, dreams and visions for every area of your life – relationships, health, finances, career, lifestyle, spirituality etc
The intentions & foundations you set in place during 2017 mold the field of potentiality and set the tone & flow of energy within your life over the forthcoming 9 years.
One of the best ways to get your inner light to glow is to take stock of all you’ve accomplished in the previous year. I encourage you to spend time honoring your completions in 2016. Take the time to turn inward, to give thanks for the good and to let go of the rest. By looking back during this time of year, you are planting the seeds for a brighter future. Take the time to harvest the wisdom of this past year. It will serve you in creating optimum health and well-being.
At the beginning of the each year I write I write down my intentions for the new year and take time to reflect upon the past year. How many of us finish something we put our energy into accomplishing and immediately put our focus on the next thing instead of savoring the accomplishment? Every time you take the time to integrate the accomplishment, a message is sent to your brain and body which establishes and strengthens the hard wiring for self-esteem and personal power.
If you don’t honor your accomplishments, your body will think there is still more to do. This feeling of constant worry that you won’t get it all done sets you up for all kinds of stress-related health conditions such as immune system challenges, hormone imbalances and systemic inflammation..
It is possible that this contributes to the thyroid problems I see many women in my office with. If you feel like you’re constantly rushing and that you never have enough time, you remain in a chronic state of in completion. One of the best ways to feel relaxed is to look back and acknowledge what you have already done. Doing from a place of guilt drains our energy. Doing from a place of being inspired gives us energy. We first need to be – to receive inspiration and then do from a place of feeling inspired.
When we compare what we are living now to the beginning of the 20th century, each of us in the western world is required to process more information in a day than our ancestors. Anyone with school age children knows that constant parent involvement is required to keep up with all the events and homework assignments. Smart technology teaches us to be on all day and night. Imagine what that does to our adrenal glands which are are essential to life as they help you cope with all types of stress. As part of the endocrine system, their role is to govern the fight or flight response, and get you ready for action. They do this by producing several important hormones including cortisol, adrenaline and norepinephrine. Making sure that your adrenals produce the right amount of hormones is crucial – too much or too little of any particular hormone can cause havoc in your body and affect your ability to deal with not just the demands of life, but simple tasks in everyday living! Many Of my clients take a hair mineral analysis to determine the state of their adrenals. I am sad to say that more people than not need support in this area. Do you have many of these signs?
Signs of adrenal fatigue:
- Weight gain – especially in waist or stomach
- Morning sluggishness
- Dry skin and hair
- Arthritis Pain in upper back and neck
- Unexplained hair loss
- Cold hands and feet- or just plain cold
- Allergies -both inhalants and food
- Low body temperature
Nutrient-dense foods to nourish adrenal glands:
- Cruciferous vegetables (cauliflower, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, etc.)
- Fatty fish (e.g., wild-caught salmon)
- Chicken and turkey
- Nuts, such as walnuts and almonds
- Seeds, such as pumpkin, chia and flax
- Kelp and seaweed
- Celtic or Himalayan sea salt
These foods help overcome adrenal insufficiency because they’re nutrient-dense, low in sugar, and have healthy fat and fiber.
Auto-immune disorders brought on by adrenal failure afflict millions of people.
The failure to deal with spiritual, emotional, mental or physical issues is likely to result in the manifestation of illness or disease in the body. There is a link between how we live our lives and our health.
In taking stock of what you’ve done and what you’ve worked through, you change your relationship to time. You realize that, one way or another, you always have time to do the things that absolutely have to be done. This starts a loop of positive reinforcement that makes you feel like you have more control of your life. If you perceive that there is always enough time, there will be.
If you’re not acknowledging your successes, you may also notice that your surroundings are cluttered. Letting go of the baggage of your past including toxic people and things is very supportive in nourishing the adrenals, Anything that blocks the flow of energy, like clutter, will keep new people, things, finances, and experiences from flowing into your life. People who have trouble acknowledging success tend to accumulate stuff, leaving little room for anything new. Studies show that too much stuff actually makes us unhappy. Letting go often means forgiving, which is something you do for yourself, not for the other person. Forgiving doesn’t make what the other person did right. It releases the emotional pain that you’re holding onto. Acknowledging your completions ensures that you let go of disappointments and old resentments more regularly. Continually release and let go. Many people have physical healings when they let go of anger and resentment this way.
Stop right now and acknowledge what you have created over the past year! Support your self to have a physical sense of completion so that your nervous system won’t remain in a state of high alert. Take as much time as you need to list your completions. You may find yourself healthier, more abundant, able to have kept of weight, better organized, a better understanding of finances, keeping up with a regular exercise program? You may also notice that things didn’t always turn out how you hoped they would. Focus on the accomplishments as this will create a forward momentum into the New Year and make sure not to beat yourself up for was not done. What you pay attention to expands. When you pay attention to how much you have grown, it sets the stage for you to receive more blessings and better health. Look back and truly feel the joy in your body. Now look to 2017 with excitement. It’s a new beginning full of all kinds of potential for you to fly and shine your brightest light!.
